A spokesperson for the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that a recent drug bust took more than $150,000 worth of drugs off the streets.
Authorities say two suspects were arrested and booked at the Ventura County Jail and are facing charges of possession of narcotics with the intent to distribute. Bail bonds for the defendants have been set at $500,000 each based on the nature and severity of the charges.
Narcotics investigators said they began looking into the men after they received a tip that they were selling drugs in several cities throughout the county. One of the men was stopped by sheriff’s deputies earlier in the week; when they searched his home they found roughly four pounds of heroin, methamphetamine, large amounts of cash and cocaine.
The men will be held at the Ventura County Jail until they are able to post jail bonds or until their case is over. If the men do want to hire a local bondsman they will need to have a cosigner who is willing to secure the bail bonds with property.
