Everyone knows that selling drugs is a crime but most people don’t realize that if a drug dealer’s client ODs, the dealer can be charged with manslaughter.
That’s exactly what happened in Ventura County last month when 32 year-old Dayn Manson was taken into custody.
According to the report by NBCLosAngeles the now-defendant was charged after a months-long investigation that began with an investigation into the death of Dallas Wilson. Ventura County Sheriff’s Department officials said the death was eventually ruled as a a heroin overdose and that evidence allowed them to trace the drug back to Manson.
Manson was booked at the Ventura County Jail on heroin sales and manslaughter charges. His bail bonds were set at $50,000, jail sources note.
This case is somewhat similar to one that took place in Minnesota after a high school girl overdosed on synthetic LSD. The adults that were charged with selling her the drugs pleaded guilty to third degree murder.
