A spokesperson for the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department said they have an apprehended a knife wielding man who has since been booked into the Ventura County Jail.
Deputies received a call at about 1 p.m. on Saturday regarding a suspicious male who had been seen walking alongside a local roadway. The caller indicated they believed the man was carrying a knife. Law enforcement responders were able to locate the individual. Eric Logue was found walking eastbound and was suffering from a self-inflicted wound to one of his writs. He had a kitchen knife in his possession.
Deputies reportedly ordered Logue to drop the knife but he failed to comply. After several unsuccessful attempts to get him to place the perceived weapon on the ground they proceeded to Taser him as a means of getting him subdued. Logue was transported to the Simi Valley Hospital to receive medical treatment. At the time of his release he was taken to the East Valley Sheriff’s station to be booked into the system. He faces one count of resisting arrest. Bail information was not immediately available but it is believed to have been set at less than $10,000.
A spokesperson for the department indicated that no members of law enforcement were injured during the incident.
