Two Simi Valley residents were arrested and taken to the Ventura County Jail last weekend. They are being charged on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance with the intent to sell / distribute.
Officers working with the Simi Valley Police Department said they responded to a call from a concerned resident, reporting that trespassers were seen in the garage area of an apartment complex. Those individuals, according to the caller, were acting suspiciously.
When officers responded to the scene they were able to locate the trespassers in a short period of time. Cassandra Zimber and Harmon Sarani were questioned and found to be in possession of heroin and methamphetamine. The exact quantity of the confiscated drugs was not immediately available. Both were booked into the Ventura County Jail. Bail amounts for this charge can range from $30,000 to more than $100,000 depending on the type and quantity of the drugs found on the suspect. Those who do not post bond immediately will appear before a judge within three business days to be arraigned. When a person is bailed out of jail their arraignment is typically delayed by 30 days.
Both defendants in this case were bonded out. Their next scheduled court appearances will likely take place during the first month of 2013.
