A man who is accused of threatening his ex and former mother in law with a gun is now behind bars at the Ventura County Jail.
Ventura Police Department officials say they received a call from the suspect’s ex-wife, saying the man had entered her home and was refusing to leave.
The argument was starting to get heated, and she pointed out her mom and three children were in another part of the house. That’s when the suspect said he had a gun on him and challenged her to call the VPD.
Officers arrived within minutes and when they got to the home they found the suspect standing in the street. He wouldn’t turn the gun over and he refused to comply with officers’ commands. But after a four-hour stand off with the SWAT and crisis negotiation teams, the man was finally taken into custody.
He’s being charged with criminal threats, violating a restraining order and resisting arrest. His bail bonds have been set at $55,000.
