A 21 year-old woman has been booked at the Ventura County Jail after getting a bit too angry at her ex-boyfriend, sources say. According to a report by ABC7.com, now-defendant Jacqueline Zavala-Lopez was arrested after she allegedly set the man’s car on fire.
The incident took place in late-December, when the 32 year-old victim called police to say his ex was trying to break into his house. She was gone by the time the authorities arrived, the boyfriend said, but she did send a text message suggesting he check on his vehicle.
Police said the car was engulfed in flames when they found it; the vehicle was a total loss, they said. The victim offered to help police find her and he was ultimately able to set up a meeting with her. Investigators arrested her on the spot.
Jail sources said she’s been charged with felony arson. Her bail bonds information was not immediately known.
