My boyfriend was arrested about 15 minutes ago. We were arguing and one of the neighbors called the police and the officers said they’re charging him with domestic violence. Things were pretty crazy when they took him out of the house but I want him to know that I’m going to get him out of the Ventura County Jail as fast as possible. Is there any way to get him a message?
This is a very common question but unfortunately the answer is no. When someone has been taken into custody there is not a way to get a message to them (the jails aren’t that customer service oriented.) Jailers will not pass along notes nor will they allow you to call in and speak to your boyfriend. The only way to speak with him is if he is able to call you collect from inside the county lock up. If your plan is to get him out of jail as fast as possible you’ll want to contact a Ventura bondsman right away. The agent you’re speaking with can help you understand how bail works and what needs to be done to ensure your boyfriend can get out of jail fast.
